From  the Airport:

Take EN 125 main road  in the direction of Portimão. Drive for approximately 15 km and turn left in the direction of Quarteira/Vilamoura. After 5 km and inside Quarteira turn right at the roundabout towards Vilamoura. Once in Vilamoura follow the signposts indicating Hotels. The Hotel is next to the marina, on the right hand side. Taxi fare is approximately 25 euros.

From the A2 (Lisbon – Algarve) motorway:

At the end of the A2 motorway enter Via do Infante (Algarve motorway) in the direction of Faro.  At the Boliqueime /Vilamoura junction, exit the IP1 and follow directions to Vilamoura. In Vilamoura, turn right at the traffic lights and follow directions to the Marina. The Hotel is next to the marina, on the right hand side.

Air transport

Faro Airport is the most important airport in Algarve in the south of Portugal; it is seven kilometers west of the city, Faro. Many budget companies have direct flights from Faro to the North of Europe, such as Easyjet, Flybe and Air Berlin. Most passengers come from Great Britain, The Netherlands and Germany.

Train

There is no train connection with Faro Airport. From the city of Faro you can take the train and travel along the rest of the coast, but this service is often slow.

Car and bus

Faro Airport is easily accessible; the exit from the coastal road EN125 is clearly indicated. From the airport there is only one way that leads to the EN125. Most tourist places are accessible within one hour. It takes approximately 20 minutes to Almancil, 30 minutes to Vilamoura, 45 minutes to Albufeira and one hour to Portimão.
The bus goes from the airport to the center of Faro. From the bus station a fast bus (Serviço Transrápido) goes to various tourist places along the coast, the bus leaves, on average, every half hour from the airport in the high season, 07:10-20:40 (weekends and holidays 08:00–19:30).
From June until October there is also a shuttle bus service (Aerobus) to the center of Faro.

Car rental - Faro Airport

There is a large range of car rental companies: Europcar, Avis, Hertz, Alamo, Budget, Rentauto, Sixt and Auto Jardim, the counters can be found in the Arrivals Hall. The prices for renting a car in the Algarve are lower than in North Europe especially if you choose a local company. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis can take at most, four passengers, the rate is approximately €1.00 per kilometer. Some examples of rates are: to Olhão €18.00, to Quinta do Lago €20.00, to Albufeira €35.00 and to Praia de Rocha €70.00. Between 22:00 and 6:00 there is an extra 20% surcharge. If you come out of the Arrivals Hall and walk to the right you will come to the taxis.

Airport Parking

Parking lot P1 is by the Departures Hall and P3 is by the Arrivals Hall, these are both intended for short-term parking. Long-term parking can be found at P2 and is behind P1 and P3. The rates are different, at P1 the first 30 minutes are €0.80, at P3 it is €1.30 for the first hour. Long-term parking has a minimum cost of  €51.50 for one week.

Hotels

There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest hotel is Ibis Faro (tel: +351(0)289 806 771), two kilometers from the airport. Shops and restaurants

The airport has a reasonable number of bars, coffee shops and stores. The tax-free division has the customary offering of cigarettes, drinks and luxury foods. However, some items such as liquor and wines can be found cheaper in the local supermarkets.
From April to October there is a cafe/restaurant with a terrace, here you have a good view of airplanes arriving and departing, the restaurant can be accessed by the stairs or the elevator in the Arrivals Hall.

Business

The airport has a limited amount of meeting rooms for a maximum of 65 people, to reserve (tel: +351(0)289 818 802). There is also a VIP lounge which is exclusively accessible through a reservation (tel: +351(0)289 800 787).

Disabled facilities

Faro Airport has adapted elevators and toilets for the disabled. Special parking spaces are opposite the terminal building. There are no special wheelchair ramps.

There are banks, money exchange offices and ATM's in the Arrivals Hall and Departures Hall, there is also a post office.

TAXIS

Taxis are usually beige-ivory color, although some vehicles to run black with green roofs, the traditional colors of the taxis in Portugal.

Rail
